With a love for hiking, writing, reading, cooking, going off the beaten paths, spending time in nature, yoga, butterflies, heart rocks, jasmine green tea and dark chocolate.

Born (1966) and raised in The Netherlands, a happy childhood created a solid foundation. I studied to be a jeweler/goldsmith and changed career after graduation. As a secretary I assisted CEO’s, board members and the regional police commissioner.

In 2005 I sold my house, quit my job and started traveling. Four years later, having set foot on the seven known continent, my path led to Mali, where I settled in 2010, founding and running a travel agency. West Africa stripped off my naivety, it opened my eyes.
When early 2020 the world fell silent, I jumped of joy: this was the time I was born for! I said goodbye to Mali and again embraced my freedom.

Barely a year later Sekhmet called me to Egypt. The lioness had a wild ride planned for me. One with twists and turns, joy, love and grief. I was catapulted forward on my path, and the country has since played an important role in my life.

It is a common thread in my life that I am the so-called exception to the rule, the strange one, the rebel. While loved by many and despised by some, I am understood by only few. Having seen the darkness in the world has encouraged me to shine my light even brighter.
