”You live a pretty healthy life. I guess you’re not taking any vitamins?”, Ron, a fellow student asks me.
“Actually, I take B12 and supplement on Omega 3”, I answer.
Do I spot a faint smile on his face?
Ron has for the past twenty-plus years done ample research into what we commonly refer to as vitamin A and vitamin D. It wasn’t that he was searching for the effects and working of vitamins. He was looking for information to help his dad, who had questions about a treatment prescribed for an illness. The last thing Ron had expected to stumble upon was scientifical research stating that vitamin D intake could lead to poisoning of the body.
Neither had I anticipated to hear information that changed my perception of supplementing vitamins. Ron had happily accepted the help I had offered him. We were going over his website, which one of our fellow-students had described as a science book: unreadable for the average person.
His site was filled with facts, links to scientific research and terms, many of which I didn’t understand either. Ron had some explaining to do, for me to grab the essence of his message: our body is so beautifully designed that it is capable of being 100% self-supporting. When adequately fed with natural food, it will obtain all the nutrients needed to maintain optimal health.
“Including vitamin B12”, he said with a smile on his face.
“But I am not a meat eater”, I answered.
His smile grew bigger and he assured me that there is a fair chance I will never take vitamin B12 or Omega 3 again, if I detox my liver and refrain from vitamin A and D intake.
“Cool, I’ll take on the challenge. If it fails, you’ll see my skin turn yellow”, I had told him with a smile.
Unfortunately, we are living in a world, where we are exposed to all kinds of toxins. They are in our foods, drinks and environment. No matter how hard we try, there is not much chance of escaping them. The best we can do, is limit our intake by making conscious choices.
Despite my pretty healthy lifestyle, I too turned out to have excess quantities of both the A and D vitamins stored in my liver, and they could well be disrupting the healthy functioning of my body. It had over time resulted in an apparent lack of vitamin B12 and Omega 3 or the ability of my body to process these.
That same evening, I put aside the supplements and sat down to detox my liver, using energetic skills. I happily accepted the detox symptoms of my body, knowing it was just a temporary dis-comfort. Worst case I would have to go back to taking supplements. Best case I would never use them again.
Not a single moment had I thought, that offering my writing skills, could lead to a whole new perception of the functioning of my body. Honestly, don’t ask me the ins and outs of the working of enzymes, cofactors, gen receptors et cetera. That’s Ron’s specialty.
The best way I can explain it for myself is comparing it to an electrical circuit. If a cable breaks somewhere along the line, we experience a power outage. If the system becomes overloaded the fuses trip. Either way, we are out of energy. Different causes, same outcome. Intervention is needed to restart the system.
Seven weeks have past since that day. Recently, I went hiking for seven days, covering 20-30 km per day. An excellent occasion for my body to show its weak spots. Apart from a few blisters and the occasional muscle aches, I had a breeze. I am feeling better than before, and the color of my skin is perfectly natural.
Thank you, Ron!
I hope you benefit just as much from my skills, as I do from your knowledge.
If you are in The Netherlands and wish to hear more about it, straight from the horse’s mouth: Ron too will be speaking at the Hemelse Impact Experience in Op Hodenpijl on September 26th.
And talking about horses: don’t miss out on Claire’s talk.
This is no medical advice.
I simply share about my own experience.
